Organization, Promotion, Design, Preservation, Revitalization

Main Street Barnesville, Inc. is an Ohio nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization working to protect and revitalize the historic downtown of the Village of Barnesville, Ohio.

Our mission

We work in partnership with local government, businesses, and residents to strengthen downtown Barnesville as a place to live, shop, and invest. Our work focuses on five areas:

  • Organization: building cooperation and leadership in the community

  • Promotion: creating a positive image of downtown

  • Design: improving the appearance of downtown

  • Preservation: supporting the rehabilitation and reuse of historic downtown buildings

  • Revitalization: strengthening the cultural, social, and economic base of downtown

How we work

Main Street Barnesville follows the Main Street Approach, a national model for downtown revitalization. Our volunteer board and four standing committees (Organization, Design, Economic Vitality, and Promotion) lead projects that support local businesses, bring people downtown, and care for the historic buildings that give Barnesville its character.

We are a partner in the Village of Barnesville Vision Plan (2026), which focuses on connecting downtown with the Depot, the Watt Center for History & the Arts, the Bohandy Building, and Memorial Park through a walkable loop trail.

Who we serve

Our program area is the Village of Barnesville, Ohio, and its surrounding area in Belmont County.
